Position Description
Operations Rotational Development Program (ORDP)
The ORDP gives recent graduates the opportunity to gain a broad perspective of the core product operations and quality/regulatory functions that are critical to the manufacture of Genentech products. This is accomplished over a two-year period through four six-month rotational assignments within the Product Operations (PROP) Organization which includes Global Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Engineering and Process Development. The rotations are tailored to provide new hires with challenging and meaningful assignments, training in technical and managerial skills, coaching and career counseling with assignment managers and mentors.
How ORDP works:
The ORDP provides participants with a combination of rotational assignments, formal program training, and coaching/career counseling aligned with the strategic objectives of Genentech's PROP organization. Participants will further develop their existing technical, business and management skills necessary to lead in the manufacturing environment of Genentech.
Each assignment will last six months, and will be based on each participant's individual technical qualifications and interests and on business needs. Assignments may be in operations planning and logistics, quality, science and technology, regulatory / compliance, global supply chain management, strategic planning, new product launches in manufacturing, financial cost accounting, product portfolio management, project engineering and business process improvements. Participants will be responsible for projects on an individual and/or team basis, and will perform activities and functions under the guidance of their assignment manager.
During the fourth and final rotational assignment, a priority will be placed on the individual's career path within Genentech. The ORDP Program Manager, ORDP Steering Committee and PROP Executive Team will assist ORDP graduates with their post-rotation placement.
