MBA Internships  - The Genentech MBA Internship Program is an intensive 10-12 week opportunity that provides work within a fast-paced and challenging environment. MBA Interns contribute to meaningful projects, interacting and working side by side with biotech industry experts.  Our internship program also provides a robust speaker series, which allows interns to hear from top executives throughout the summer.

MBA Internships in Commercial - Commercial plays a crucial role in bringing Genentech's therapies to our customers by transforming our scientific innovations into changes
in the practice of medicine that enhance and extend patients' lives.
The group's primary focus is to market and sell novel, targeted
therapies for disease areas with unmet needs. The development and
implementation of commercial strategies involves collaboration across
a variety of teams with dedicated expertise.

Genentech's Commercial Organization consists of the following
departments: BioOncology, Immunology, Tissue Growth and Repair,
Commercial Operations, Managed Care and Customer Operations and
Strategy and Communication.


BioOncology, Immunology and Tissue Growth and Repair
The Product Management brand teams within the BioOncology, Immunology
and Tissue Growth and Repair business units are responsible for
developing strategic and tactical plans for in-line and pipeline
products, as well as leading assessments of new compounds coming out
of research and business development opportunities. Brand Teams are
intricately involved in and lead cross-functional teams to ensure
that products meet customer needs and are well positioned against the
competition.

As an intern on a product management brand team, the intern will have
an opportunity to work on projects focused on medical education,
promotions and/or strategy.

Commercial Operations
Commercial Operations supports our Commercial partners through
dedicated support, shared services, best practices and in-house
consulting expertise. Below are examples of some of the departments
in Commercial Operations.

o Commercial Training and Development
The Commercial Training and Development group creates superior
learning and development solutions; enable
successful implementation of major Commercial and technology
initiatives; leverage institutional knowledge
through exceptional on-going service delivery; and lead and promote
next-in-class organizational practices.

o Marketing Communications
Marketing Communications collaborates with internal partners to
deliver brand messages to health care professionals, patients and
caregivers. We provide eMarketing, Patient Marketing and Publication
Planning services that result in programs that engage our customers
as they utilize various channels to access information about our
products and the diseases they treat.

o Market Development
Market Development actively participates in Genentech's commercial
planning efforts by providing objective, in-depth information about
current and future markets, product performance, customers, and
competitors for the US and ex-US businesses.

Internship opportunities within Commercial Operations may exist in
Commercial Business Practices, Commercial Training and Development,
Market Communications and Market Development.

Managed Care Marketing and Customer Operations
Our mission is to ensure patient access to Genentech products through
marketing strategies focused on the Managed Care marketplace. The
Managed Care and Customer Operations organization provides access to
Genentech products through relationship building with Managed Care
organizations, account management and Field sales as well as through
development, implementation and delivery of customer-centered
distribution models and patient support programs.

Internship opportunities exist in Managed Care in support of various
brand team initiatives.
